One 60-day voyage through the Australian Coast is being halted following the fatal incident of an older woman who was abandoned by the ship on a distant coastal location.

Suzanne Rees had been hiking on the tropical location with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the excursion for a break. The ship departed without her and came back later that day after the ship staff discovered the passenger was not present.

A major search operation discovered her person the subsequent day.

Authorities are examining the incident, in coordination with police and the official investigator.
